Ogun State government has said that it is currently repositioning the education sector to ensure that the girl-child have access to quality and quantitative education.
The state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbagbu, disclosed while speaking at this year’s International Girl Child Day celebration in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, organised by the Nigeria Women Journalists, NAWOJ.
He said that an early childhood education is the bedrock on which all levels of education is build for a sustainable development, and that the chances of a child achieving his or her potentials are affected by early education.
All others who spoke at the event, charged girls at the event, to uphold their moral values and imbibe a noble character, to boost their self-confidence in the society.
