The former Governor of Ekiti State Segun Oni has appeared before the Election Petition Tribunal at the sitting on the dispute arising from the June 18 Ekiti governorship election.
Oni, the 1st Petitioner who had earlier been led in examination-in-chief by his lead counsel, Obafemi Adewale (SAN), and candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the 2nd Petitioner brought electoral documents before the Tribunal seeking to tender them as exhibits.
He claimed that he was denied access to electoral materials in the custody of the 4th Respondent, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) when he applied to inspect them.
Reacting to the arguments the Tribunal Chairman, Justice Wilfred Kpochi, said the Panel wanted to mark each of the documents for each of the polling units for ease of reference but it was discovered that there were more documents for each of the polling units brought to the court.
