Tennis star Nick Kyrgios will play in the Tokyo Open this week as a Magistrates’ Court in his native Australia hears details of a common assault charge against the world number 20.
Police charged Kyrgios, 27, following allegations made in December 2021 in relation to an incident the previous January.
Kyrgios’s lawyer has said it involved a “domestic relationship” whilst Australian media reported back in July that the charge was related to a complaint made by a former girlfriend.
Canberra Magistrates Court will hear the case on Tuesday
