Barcelona have confirmed their Uruguayan defender Ronald Araujo will undergo surgery on a thigh injury picked up while playing for Uruguay over the international break. Araujo decided to have surgery and will now spend a significant amount of time on the sidelines.
Barca has not yet specified how long he will be out, but reports indicate that it will be between two and three months.
Araujo might not be selected for Uruguay’s team to compete in this year’s World Cup in Qatar as a result.
