The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced the highest cocaine seizure in Nigeria’s history, after it bust a major warehouse in an estate in the Ikorodu area of Lagos.
According to NDLEA’S spokesman, Femi Babafemi, about 1.8tons of the illicit drug, worth more than two hundred and seventy-eight thousand dollars were recovered, while four barons, including a Jamaican and the warehouse manager, were arrested in an intelligence-led operation that lasted two days across different locations in Lagos.
Babafemi noted that those arrested are all members of an international drug syndicate that the agency had been trailing since 2018.
