To prevent the Labor Party (LP), its candidates, and supporters from holding a rally dubbed the “#Obidatti23 Forward Ever Rally” on October 1 or any other day in Lagos State, nine attorneys and one more plaintiff have petitioned the Federal High Court in Lagos.

They particularly requested that the demonstration not be held until the September 12 hearing and decision on their motion-on-notice, which was filed against the LP, its presidential candidate Peter Obi, his vice, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, Julius Abure, and their supporters.

In an ex parte motion filed before Justice Daniel Osiagor through their counsel Mr. Dada Awosika, SAN, leading others, the plaintiffs argued that the “#Obidatti23 Forward Ever Rally” would be a repeat or celebration of what they called the “infamous” #EndSARS protest” of 2020 and will cause a breakdown of peace that will result in a post-traumatic stress disorder for them and the public.
