British prime minister, Liz Truss has chaired the first meeting of her Cabinet ahead of a debut showdown against Sir Keir Starmer at the Prime Minister’s Questions at lunchtime.
Truss finished appointing her top team last night and met with her senior ministers this morning.
She has presented her final plan for tackling rising energy bills and the wider cost-of-living crisis to the new cabinet.
