Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo), Albert Bassey Akpan, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Akpan, who made this known in a letter to his ward chairman, said he defected to contest for the governorship of Akwa-Ibom State on the platform of another party.
HE said the action is is with the greatest sense of responsibility, purpose, and love for his people that he took the bold step.
