Constitution Amendment: House Steps Down Motion Seeking To Override Buhari

The deputy speaker, Hon. Idris Wase has stopped for the second time move by Hon Igbakpa to override the president on section (84)8 which gives statutory delegates the power to fully participate by voting in party’s congresses and conventions.

This follows a motion brought before the house listed for hearing on the floor at plenary by Hon. Ben Igbakpa, on the need to veto president Muhammadu Buhari, over his refusal to sign the sections of the electoral act which empowers the statutory delegates to vote in conventions and congresses of their party’s.

The Deputy Speaker advised Hon. Igbakpa to follow the due process and directing him to the chairman, rules and business for proper guidance, to which the honourable concurred
