A Priest of the Catholic Church, and Governorship Aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Benue State Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has described his suspension order by the Bishop of Gboko Catholic Diocese, William Avenya, as a normal practice of the church laws.

Father Alia said that as stated clearly in the letter of suspension, he is only suspended from celebrating public Eucharistic Masses, but remains a priest of the Catholic Church forever.

While making a public statement to Journalist in Makurdi, the Governorship Aspirant stated that he was fully aware of the decision of the church, right from the day he took the decision to answer the overwhelming calls of Benue people to contest the Governorship of the state.
