President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, to convey his condolences on the passing of President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The President is scheduled to present the condolence and contrary letter to the new President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and thereafter review the bonds of a long-lasting friendship between the 2 countries.
The President, in an earlier congratulatory message to the new UAE leader, had reaffirmed Nigeria’s cordial relationship with the country, noting that the cooperation between both governments have helped Nigeria in tracking down illegal assets and tracing terrorists’ funds.
The President is expected back in Abuja on Saturday.
