Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Oyo State, Dr. Mutiu Agboke has said that it is important for accountants to see themselves as critical change agents in ending corruption and other related sharp practices across all sectors in the country.
Speaking with journalists after delivering his paper on “accounting and the law: implications for practitioners.”, at the inauguration of the new executive of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria ANAN, Agboke noted that accountants play key roles in the nation’s development and economic growth; therefore, they must refrain from corrupt practices at all times.
The State Chairman, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, and member of ANAN, Isa Olude Owolabi advocates that the dichotomy between accountants in different professional bodies should be eradicated.
