Ekiti state residents have been tasked to strive for the enthronement of democratic principles in the June 18, 2022 Governorship Election.
Stakeholders at a one-day forum took the opportunity to brainstorm on ways to deepen democratic ethics and citizens participation in the political processes in the state.
The stakeholders also deliberated on deepening Participation, while condemning financial inducement in Elections, which they say have led to increased corruption.
While identifying vote buying and electoral violence as some of the challenges to credible Elections in Nigeria, the stakeholders say constant engagement with the independent national electoral commission has led to improvement in the country’s electoral processes.
