Ukrainian rescue workers today recovered a body from under the rubble of a building in Kyiv that was hit by a missile.
Radio Liberty said in a statement that the body was that of Vira Hyrych, a producer from the news organisation, who had worked in their Kyiv bureau since February 2018. Hyrych lived in the building that was hit.
The death was the first reported in Thursday‘s (April 28) missile strike as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres visited Kyiv.
Ukrainian officials said two Russian missiles had struck the capital. Russia has not commented on the incident.
