The last has not been heard of the crisis in the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, as reactions have begun to trail recent development pertaining to the conduct of elections into the board of the federation.
On Tuesday, the ministry through the Permanent Secretary, Ismaila Abubakar, dissolved the caretaker committee of the NBBF led by Musa Kida and warned stakeholders to stay clear of the election venue.
Meanwhile, the Basketball Players association of Nigeria and other key actors of the sports have agreed that the suspension of the NBBF elective congress scheduled for Benin City, Edo State capital, is a step in the right direction.
Their grievance is the NBBF constitution which they said does not provide a level playing ground for all.
The Ministry of Youths and Sports on Monday called off the October 30 NBBF elective congress but in a swift reaction, the caretaker committee led by the immediate past president vowed to go ahead with the elective congress declaring the suspension as a contravention of the provisions of the NBBF statutes.
