Worried over the deteriorating state of insecurity affecting some local government areas of Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed has asked local council chairmen to fish out the perpetrators.
The Governor made the charge during a security meeting held at the Government House, Bauchi.
The meeting focused on land speculation, local government autonomy, and insecurity which mostly affected the Local Government Areas of Toro, Ningi, Dass and Tafawa Balewa.
During the meeting, Governor Mohammed expressed concern on the way and manner some government officials, as well as traditional rulers within the state, have been conniving with bad elements to truncate the relative peace being enjoyed by the people.
He assured of his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of the citizenry.
On the issue of deforestation which is badly affecting the environment, the Governor charged council chairmen to ensure they fish out the perpetrators to face the full wrath of the law and to serve as a deterrent to others with similar intentions.
The meeting had in attendance all the 20 Local Government Chairmen, Commissioners of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Housing and Environment, as well as Culture and Tourism, with their key officers.
