Greg Abbott, the sitting Texas Governor has placed an embargo on mandatory vaccinations for employees to return back to the workplace across all organizations whether private or public.
The Covid-19 vaccine is safe, effective, and our best defence against the virus, but should remain voluntary and never forced,”
Greg Abbott
According to him, the mandated vaccines encroach on the individual’s personal freedoms and he also encourages other state lawmakers to do the same.
It is unclear how this will bode as US President Joe Biden has been canvassing for widespread vaccinations in a bid to return to pre-pandemic levels of activity and even encouraged corporate giants to drive the narrative.
Texas recently shot into the spotlight due to its recent controversial abortion law, which has now been withdrawn, and also because wealth mogul, Elon Musk decided to move Tesla’s headquarters from California to Austin due to the friendlier cost of living when compared to the Bay Area.
The Governor may just be on to something as in recent times there is a huge divide between pro-vaxxers and anti-vaxxers as they are now labeled.
