The Nigeria Association of Resident Doctors, NARD, has called on all well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on the Federal Government to set aside all technicalities as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari and resolve the demands in the interest of the masses as they are currently suffering as a result of the ongoing strike.

This was contained in a communique read after their 41st Annual General Meeting, AGM, held in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, which ushered in new executive members.

This time around, it is a new executive who came with the task to continue with the struggle.

The executive, through their newly elected President, Dr Dare Godiya, faulted the Federal Government for taking Nigerian resident doctors to court due to the ongoing strike action, which was called for the welfare of their members.

They also called on various state governments to urgently pay salaries arrears and the allowances owed to their members in the tertiary state health institutions.

Issues raised at the AGM meeting include the national minimum wage, consequential adjustment, IPPS, GIFMIS flatforms of their members, delay in payment of salaries ranging from three to eight months.

The AGM hoped for a positive response from the Federal Government in favour of the common masses.
