The Otis Hughley side were the better side in the first three quarters with a wide margin of points through the likes of Ify Ibekwe and Amy Okonkwo three points shots.
Some three-pointer shots recorded by the Senegalese almost did damage to the points gap the Nigerian team was enjoying in the fourth quarter of the game.
The defending champions dug in during the closing stage of the fourth quarter and steadied the advantage at 10 points gap above the host of the 2019 edition who suffered a painful loss at home in Dakar to the D’Tigress.
The top two teams qualify for one of the qualifying tournaments for the 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup.
