The Nasarawa State Urban Development Board, in collaboration with the Road Transport Workers, have advised motorists and petty traders against congesting the Mararaba – Nyanya Federal Road.
They made the call during the flag-off of the street clearance of the Mararaba Highway, asking the traders to comply with the standard set by the state’s Task Force.
To decongest the Mararaba junction in Nasarawa State, the Task Force took to the streets of Mararaba to clear the petty traders and motorists operating in the area.
The Managing Director of the Urban Development Board, Wada Mohammed, asked the traders to move to the Nasarawa State International Market to operate.
The traders operating on the road told reporters that they are ready to comply with the standard but need a permanent place for them to set their businesses.
The state’s task force said failure to comply with the standard will attract fines.
