The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, says his administration would in the coming days set up a special task force to be saddled with the responsibility of clearing illegal street traders and arrest residents defacing major highways and projects in the state.
Speaking after he inspected a number of ongoing projects on Saturday, Governor Wike said his administration’s aim is to keep the city clean and would do everything to ensure that the multi-billion naira projects in the state are protected and allowed to last.
Governor Wike expressed concern with the activities of street hawkers and other persons defacing the projects and the city.
He said the next phase of Flag-off and commissioning of projects is just days away and the projects when completed will not only ease the flow of traffic, it will also beautify the city.
