The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has handed over its former headquarter building to its owner, the Rivers State government, thereby ending 20 years of the lease.
On the ground for the handover was the Secretary to the Rivers State government, Tammy Danagogo.
The former headquarter building of the NDDC was leased from the Rivers State government in the year 2000 after the interventionist agency was created by the Federal Government to address the development challenges in the Niger Delta region.
After the inspection of the eight-storey building located along Aba road in Port Harcourt, the Secretary to the Rivers State government commended the Commission for maintaining the structure.
He said Rivers State will continue to partner with the Commission for the greater good of the state.
The Interim Administrator of NDDC, Efiong Akwa, said the Commission is appreciative of the Rivers State government’s assistance to the Commission.
He said the Commission will continue to explore areas of partnership with the government and people of Rivers State.
