Three members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Wednesday narrowly escaped assassination along Akwanga-Lafia road.
The members include Samuel Tsebe representing Akwanga South, David Maiyaki, Gitata/Karu, and Peter Akwe Obi-I constituency at the State House of Assembly.
According to a report, the lawmakers were coming from a burial of the late elder brother to the wife of Tsebe when assassins shot at their vehicles around Wowyen, a village along the axis.
Speaking after the incident, Tsebe expressed gratitude to God for saving his life and the lives of his colleagues.
While confirming the incident to reporters, Tsebe said, the attack occurred when they were approaching Wowyen village along Akwanga Lafia road, which is between Police Mobile Training College, Ende Hills, and the village towards the bridge.
He hinted that they heard gunshots at the driver’s side of the car of which he was the one driving saying that, the bullet broke down the glasses of the car as the shot was targeted at the driver.
The lawmaker further said it is more of an assassination attempt and they have informed the police while thanking God for their lives.
