More than 500 vulnerable households in Cross River State have received payment of 30, 000 Naira stipend for the Federal Government under the Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT, component of its National Social Investment Programme, NSIP.
The State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Social Welfare, Blessing Egbara, while making the payment, said the disbursement of the monthly stipend is to support small scale businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Egbara further explained that the 30, 000 Naira represents the 5,000 Naira monthly for six months from January to June 2021.
The Conditional Cash Transfer is one of the National Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government targeted at meeting some of the needs of Nigeria’s most economically vulnerable persons.
