The counsel representing Sunday Igboho’s aides, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has given the Department of State Security Service, DSS, 48 hours to release his clients who have been in the DSS custody for over two months since their arrest.
Olajengbesi who stated this during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday said failure for the DSS to do this will warrant them facing contempt proceedings before a court of competent jurisdiction.
Olajengbesi said the bail bond of his clients has been fully perfected after Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court signed the release order, setting all Sunday Igboho’s aides free, including the four contested detainees, but the DSS refused to release his clients.
Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Abuja Federal High Court had signed the release order, setting Sunday Igboho’s aides free, 19 days after they were granted bail on August 4, 2021.
