The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, says before the end of the Buhari-led administration, Nigeria will begin work on local production of aircraft to facilitate the growth of the sector towards attracting patronage across the globe.

Speaking during an inspection visit to the Magnus Aircraft Industry in Pogany, Hungary, Sirika said that the assembling plant will serve as a regional aviation superpower with maintenance and repair facilities.

The Minister noted that the present administration is improving more on attracting foreign investors with the ongoing implementation of the development roadmap which emphasised public-private partnerships.

Sirika further hinted that he is satisfied with the production of Aeroplane by the Magnus aircraft manufacturer and the Federal Government is now fully ready to partner with the company to speed up the local production of aircraft in Nigeria.

He pointed out that one of the significant features of the aircraft manufacturer is that it uses normal car petrol and outperforms any training aircraft of its kind, particularly for the military in aerobatic maneuver.
