Ekiti State government is urging residents not to panic as the state discovers two suspected cases of Cholera.
Ekiti State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Banji Filani, on Monday, disclosed the discovery of two cases suspected to be Cholera in Moba and Ilejemeje Local Government Areas of the state. This is coming on the heels of a surge in Covid-19 cases in the state.
Filani disclosed this during an interactive session with reporters in his office. While advising residents to keep all rules of hygiene and report all suspected cases to relevant stakeholders, Filani said samples of the suspected cases have been sent for tests.
The Commissioner restated the commitment of the Ekiti State government to the health of the residents.
He also said a task force has been set up across the 16 local government areas of the state to enforce hygiene and Covid-19 protocols.
