Air force Establishes Operating Base In Northern Cross River

In an effort to curb insecurity especially between Cross River, Ebonyi, and Benue States, the Nigerian Air Force has established Forward Operating Bases, FOB, in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The Commander of 305 Mobility Group of Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice-Marshal Aliyu Bello, made this known during the foundation laying ceremony of Nigerian Air Force Primary School in Calabar.

Bello said the effort was to curb both inter and intra-Communal crises and improve the security situation in the area.

He commended the express donation of lands and other supports by the Cross River State government in realizing the project, promising that the Air Force will continue to partner with the state to improve the security situation around its area of responsibility.

Speaking on behalf of the Cross River State government at the groundbreaking, the Secretary to Cross River State government, Tina Banku-Agbor, said the state will continue its partnership with the Air Force.

The Air Force Primary School when completed will provide basic quality education to both the military personnel children and the civilian communities.
