Bauchi govt. discovers over 7, 000 ghost workers in LG Public Service

Over 7, 000 ghost workers have been discovered in Bauchi State and the Local Government Public Service.

The committee set up to find a lasting solution on the salary payment in the state disclosed this while presenting its report to Governor Bala Mohammed on Friday.

It could be recalled that on the 23rd of March, Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed, inaugurated a high-powered committee under the chairmanship of his Deputy, Senator Baba Tela, to bring to an end to the salary challenges in both the state and local government nominal and payroll system.

The development has exposed thousands of ghost workers, who are illegally consuming about a billion Naira monthly.

Receiving the report, the Bauchi State Governor commended the committee for a job well done and promised to take drastic action against the culprits.

The state’s Labour Chairman, Danjuma Sale, called for speedy and proper implementation of the committee’s recommendations to enable the state to have genuine and credible data.
