In line with the Inspector General of Police directive for all state commands to change policing strategy for effective crime prevention, the Cross River State Police Command has deployed 50 trained female tactical team personnel with ICT gadgets intelligence-gathering skills and combat readiness to all the 18 local government areas of the state.
The State Commissioner of Police, Sikiru Akande, made this known while parading 46 suspected criminals arrested by the Command in Calabar.
Akande said the specially trained operatives will be deployed strategically to all nooks and crannies of the state in a bid to bring crime to its barest minimum.
The state Police Commissioner called on citizens of Cross River to key into the new policing style saying, the combat-ready female police officers will be on the street of Calabar and other parts of the state in the days ahead.
The 46 suspected criminals paraded which included armed robbers, kidnappers, and cultists who the Police Commissioner said will be charged to court after the completion of investigations.
