Suspected bandits have on launched a fresh attack on the Kukar Babangida Community in the Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing one person and injuring three others.
The community is located along the Katsina-Jibia Road and is considered to be a safe place of refuge, by many victims of attacks, from other Jibia communities.
A local source told reporters that the bandits arrived in the community at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, shooting sporadically as they conducted a house-to-house search for livestock and other valuables they could steal.
It was gathered that during the operation, the bandits took away about 300 livestock, as well as motorcycles and clothes.
The deceased has been buried Monday morning, while the three injured victims are receiving treatment at a health facility.
When contacted, the Police spokesman, Superintendent of Police, Gambo Isah, said he will contact the Area Commander and revert.
As of the time of this report, there is no official statement from the authorities with regards to the incident.
