Directors of Sports in the South-South Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria have issued a ten-point communique, that will consolidate the gains of sports development in the region.
Top on the resolution during the meeting held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, was the choice of Rivers State, as a venue for the Zonal Elimination Tournament, starting on September 1st to the 5th, ahead of this year’s National Youth Sports Games, scheduled to hold in Illorin, Kwara State, and the position of the body, to support aspirants with capacity vying for board representation of the Zone, when the nation’s Sports Federation election takes place, after the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.
The South-south Directors of Sports also embarked on a facility tour of the ongoing Bayelsa State Modern Wrestling and Gym facility, as well as a Private Table Tennis Academy, all cited in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State Capital.
