In continuation of its drive to boost industrialization through private sector participation, the Benue State government has reconstituted the council on privatisation and commercialisation of enterprises.

The State Governor, Samuel Ortom, inaugurated the council at the Government House in Makurdi, the state capital.

Following the expiration of the tenure of the first privatisation and commercialisation council, the second council was reconstituted in line with the commercialisation law 2010.

The constitution of the council was bourne out of the desire of the state government to privatize its moribund industries whose economic value keeps depreciating.

The Chairman of the Council, Christopher Abah, while responding on behalf of members, pledged the commitment of members to their duties for the interest of the state.

Members of the council include Michael Gusa, Barrister Merga Kachina, Barrister Alex Adum, Godwin Anya, Amanda ‘Lumun Feese, Iyornumbe Ime, and Annune Fidelis as member Secretary.

If fully privatised to capable private investors, the enterprises will generate employment, create wealth, and stimulate economic development.
