The Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has excluded his State from the Presidency’s planned review of the Land Use Act insisting that Benue will not be part of a policy targeted at land grabbing for herdsmen.

Ortom who stated this while receiving a new Zonal Commander for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, in Makurdi, the state capital, maintained that the said policy has failed on arrival.

The chief executive used the opportunity to share his thoughts regarding plans to review the Land Use Act which he perceived as a land grabbing plot.

He debunked insinuations that the state’s livestock guards work contrary to the law.

The chief security officer of the state assured the new Zonal Commander of his complete support to enable him to succeed.
