Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, says religious tolerance is the panacea for peaceful coexistence and Nigerians must return to God for guidance as to the way out of the present challenges confronting the nation.
Governor Sule made the call during the episcopal ordination and installation of Rt. Rev. David Ajang as the new Catholic Bishop of Lafia Diocese, Nasarawa State capital.
The place of religion in social and national development remains strategic with the country facing several challenges, Governor Sule believes that for peace to reign in the country, it is very important that Muslims and Christians not only understand each other but also respect each other’s religion.
For Sule, what the country needs now is divine guidance which comes from God and adherents of the two prominent religions, they must pray for the leadership at all levels to get it right as they seek to resolve the challenges confronting the country.
The celebrant, Rt Rev David Ajang, expressed gratitude to God who in his wisdom made it possible for him to become the new Catholic Bishop of Lafia.
