The Cross River State Police Command has confirmed that a 24-year-old young man beheaded a 54-year-old grandmother in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the incident to reporters, said the suspect has been arrested and will be charged to court accordingly.
Trouble started when some neighbours saw Christian Edem Eyo when he was burying the lifeless body and raised alarm to the police in Mbukpa area of Calabar South Local Government Area that the young man beheaded a neighbour known as Uduak who lived in the same compound with them.
Eyewitness account said that Christian, after killing Uduak for a yet to be known motive, took the head to his room after burring the headless body of the lady in a shallow grave in the early hours of Wednesday.
The police said Christian, alias Etebong, is giving useful information which will be used in the court of law subsequently.
