The former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Charles Soludo, has emerged candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, for the November 6, 2021, Anambra State governorship election.

The Chief Returning Officer and APGA National Vice Chairman, southwest zone, Samson Olalemire, declared Professor Soludo the winner of the primary election after polling 740 of the 792 votes cast.

Professor Soludo told the Party’s leadership and delegates that he was humbled by the overwhelming support to fly the APGA flag in the coming governorship election in the State, promising not to take the mandate for granted.

There was an unusually heavy presence of armed and stern-looking security operatives within the venue of the primary election as well as on major streets of Awka, the State capital throughout the period of the exercise.
