ExxonMobil to Lay Off 5%-10% of Staff over the Next 3 Years

For the next 3 – 5 years, Exxon Mobil Co. has revealed intentions to shed its US workforce by 5 – 10% per year. This will be done via a performance review where the lowest-performing staff will be let go.

It had last year disclosed plans to cut at least 14,000 jobs globally as part of its cutting cost strategy due to the effects of COVID-19. It also revealed plans to suspend bonuses after a $20 billion loss last year.

This month, three new directors were also announced after a deep-seated management controversy to help steer its renewable energy goals.
