The Federal Government has been asked to equip the security agencies with sophisticated hardware to enable them to win the war against insecurity in the country.

The Deputy President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, Najim Yasin, made the call at an event in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.

He said the bandits seem to have more sophisticated weapons than the security operatives. He stressed the need for Nigerians to see the ongoing war against insecurity as everyone’s responsibility and not that of the government alone.

The NLC Deputy President called on the people to expose the criminals in their communities to security agents.

Yasin observed that the criminal elements live amidst the people, and should volunteer credible intelligence to the security agents to neutralise them so that the country can enjoy peace.

The labour activist explained that if the government can play its role of providing adequate modern war hardware to the security agents, and the people assist them with vital information, the country can defeat the insurgents, bandits, kidnappers, cattle rustlers, and other criminal elements.
