An LPG tanker exploded Wednesday at about 10.45 pm in front of Opic Plaza along Mobalaji Bank Anthony way Ikeja killing five persons and leaving 13 others seriously injured.
Speaking to reporters on the sad development, South West Coordinator of NEMA, Ibrahim Farinloye, said the prompt intervention of the agency led to the rescue of 13 persons alive.
One other business owner at the Plaza, while expressing sadness over the ugly development, said the increased wave of LPG gas explosion in recent weeks particularly in the southwest has become worrisome.
The entire building has been cordoned off with restrictions to both human and vehicular movement in full force.
