Zambia’s foremost president and anti colonial hero, Kenneth Kaunda has finally passed away at the ripe old age of 97.

Kaunda was Ill, and recently, the sitting president, Edgar Lunga requested prayers on his behalf.

He reportedly passed on moments away at a military hospital in Lusaka, as disclosed by his son, Kambarage.

Kaunda ruled Zambia from 1964 till 1991. He is mostly remembered for his fight against colonialism by the white minority in the southern parts of Africa.

He dedicated the last part of his life towards a fight against HIV/AIDS after losing his son, Masuzyo to the deadly disease.
