A judicial commission of inquiry will be set up by the Imo State government over the spate of killings in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodinma disclosed this at the Banquet Hall, Government House Owerri when some state leaders visited him as part of activities marking the 2021 Democracy Day.
At the gathering are elder statesmen, politicians, traditional rulers, religious leaders, youths, artisans who have come to get firsthand the scorecard of Governor Uzodinma’s administration in the past year.
Uzodimma described the implementation of the Whitepaper on Recovery of Lands and Property in Imo as the turning point in the war against insecurity in the state.
Speaking on behalf of Imo stakeholders, former Governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, said Governor Uzodimma’s administration has surpassed the expectations of many, and urged Imo people to lend their support to the Governor.
The Governor, however, urged all Imo residents to remain vigilant against unpatriotic elements bent on destabilizing the state.
