A cemetery called the ‘Garden of Africa’ has been launched in Tunisia to honor those who lost their lives in the Mediterranean Sea in their attempt to reach Europe.
The Cemetery which is already half-full at its inauguration has been described by the head of UNESCO as an unfolding tragedy.
The tombs with no headstones were surrounded by Olive trees, vines and sculptures.
The cemetery was designed and funded by an Algerian artist, Rachid Koraichi to help families get closure by offering those lost in transit and dignified burial.
