Parents of kidnapped Islamiyya students visit school

Parents of students of Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School in Tegina Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State continue to visit the school for an update of their abducted children by gunmen

The Principal of the School, Garba Alhassan, said that most of the parents are losing sleep since the incident occurred.

A visit to the school saw some of the parents of the abducted children in a sad mood. The school in the meantime has been closed down until the situation normalizes.

Some of the parents were not in the mood for an interview as the only person who summoned the courage to answer questions busted into tears.

Alhassan who is the Principal of the school and also a parent is affected. The gunmen went away with some of his children and a sister who is working in the school.

Niger State Deputy Governor, Ahmad Ketso, in an interview with reporters in Minna assured parents of the abducted children that the government is doing all it could to ensure the safe release of the children

The children as of Sunday were a week old in the hands of the gunmen.
