Col. Assimi Goita has been sworn in as Mali’s Interim President two weeks after successfully deposing Bah Ndaw and Moctar Ouane, the transitional President and Prime Minister respectively from office in a coup.
The move which comes with hefty consequences for the West African Country did not stop Goita from taking the oath of office after his second power grab within the space of nine months

Violence has continued to maintain center stage in the troubled region as just last week Thursday, 11 Tuareg were murdered by an unidentified assailant in Menaka adding to the thousands of victims that have continued to suffer violence.
