The leading opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the Imo State government have continued to trade words over the insecurity situations in the State.

While the PDP is calling for Governor Hope Uzodinma’s resignation for the inability to address the rising insecurity challenges in the state, the state government believes the opposition party is highly unpatriotic in making such a call and their action is an indictment on their path.

The PDP while addressing reporters expressed worry over alleged militarization, mass arrest, and killing of Imo youths.

The government in her response through the Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba, said such utterance is an indictment on the path of the PDP. He described the statement as unpatriotic and doesn’t hold water.

However, the situation in Imo State currently requires concerted efforts of all stakeholders to ensure that peace is restored in Imo State and residents can once again sleep with their two eyes closed.
