The Directorate of Immigration Services and Postal Corporation of Kenya has launched a new directive that will see Kenyans receive their passports by home delivery by choice or the closest postal service to them.
The move, a partnership between the two parastatals was designed to help decongest the immigration services in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Citizens will be able to request online through the self-service portal and pay the minimum applicable delivery fee.
The DG of the Immigration Services, Alexander Muteshi disclosed that once the passport is available, the recipient will receive a notification with a link to the passport delivery self-portal.
The CEO and Postmaster General of the Postal Corporation of Kenya also revealed that the move is part of the organizations plan to adapt new technologies in delivering better services.
