Bah-Ndaw arrested by military

The United Nations mission in Mali has called for the immediate release of President Bah Ndaw, and the Prime Minister, Moctar Ouane, from captivity after they were captured by the military and driven to the Kati camp close to the state capital, Bamako.

News reaching us also infer that the Defence Minister, Souleymane Doucoure has also been captured. The captures which came shortly after a cabinet reshuffle is perceived to be the root cause of the leaders’ disappearances.

The African Union, as well as the EU and the United States, have all condemned the development demanding the release of the leaders without any conditions. The nation which just removed Ibrahim Boubacar Keita from office is leaning towards instability after nine months.
