Faulty foundation in the Nigerian leadership system has been identified as major challenge militating against the political system of the country thereby hampering speedy development.
Member, Federal House of Representatives, Shina Peller, made the submission during a youth leadership training in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, where about 32 youths were trained across the 16 local government areas of the state on how to identify core leadership practices for organizing.
Peller challenged Nigerian youths to rise up to the challenge of leadership failure to correct the wrongs by getting involved in leadership roles.
The federal lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju Federal Constituency in Oyo State also maintained that the 2023 general election is a good opportunity for Nigerians to make necessary choices of leaders hence no one should be part of the move to disrupt the electoral process.
The lawmaker is of the opinion that to achieve a greater Nigeria, there is a need for a new culture of super-active citizens who understand the importance of politics and to build strong institutions and community engagement.
