Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are holding a crucial meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital to discuss how to address the pervasive insecurity and other threats facing the country.
As at the time of this report, 11 PDP Governors and a deputy were already at the Oyo State Government House for the meeting. Some of the Governors had arrived on Sunday evening including the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
Other issues to be discussed at the meeting, according to the Director-General of the Forum, including the state of the economy and how the PDP can assert itself as a viable alternative political platform to the ruling APC
The meeting is coming on the heels of that of the Southern Governors Forum which last week passed far-reaching resolutions including a collective ban on open grazing and a call on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently take steps to address insecurity in the country
